Man Shoots Himself with Nail Gun

November 19th, 2007

GLOUCESTER, England – A man who shot himself with a nail gun in Gloucester to get money was sentenced Wednesday to 30 months in jail. David Russell, 38, claimed he was robbed by three men who shot him seven times with a two-inch nail gun. One of the nails nearly went through his heart and had to be removed surgically, The Times of London reports. Local investigators pressed Russell and he admitted to making a similar claim seven years before. In that scam he reportedly received 4,400 pounds ($9,000) in compensation.
The two men Russell said attacked him were arrested and later released. Russell pleaded guilty in the Gloucester Crown Court to two charges of perverting the course of justice. The newspaper reported the local prosecutor, Julian Kesner, described Russell as a “very convincing fantasist,” adding that he has “told the most audacious of lies, including concocting stories of being the victim of the most extraordinary crimes.” The defense, meanwhile, claimed Russell had tried to kill himself on both occasions.

To the tune of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”
At first I was afraid, I was petrified.
By the ugly wanker that was lying by my side.
I would’ve drunk a little less, I would’ve tried to keep my head,
If I’d known for just one second I’d be in your crusty bed…
I tried to go, walk out the door.
But I laughed so hard at your small knob that I’ve fallen on the floor.
Your butt’s a pimply mess, it’s just a broken-out disgrace,
But I’d rather look at that, than at your fuckin’ ugly face..!
I want to go, I’ve got to leave.
Your talk of chicks and football really makes me want to heave.
I only know I’ve got to stop my drinking spirits and the beer
Coz when I looked at you last night, you looked just like Richard Gere!
I can’t believe, that we both shagged.
You should be wearing concrete shoes or simply bound and gagged.
I’m fucking off right now, I’m jumping on the flippin’ train and I’m
not stopping till I’m home and washed your greeblies down the drain.
Please let me go, I feel quite sick,
We had the worst sex in the world and you’re an ugly little prick
I should have shagged your gorgeous mate, at least he’s got a lovely flat
But no I go and trust the booze and now I’m stuck with you, you twat.
It’s time to go, run out the door.
You look so ugly it should really be against the law.
I’m going to give up all the booze, I’m going to have no stupid fun,
Coz waking up beside your mug, just makes me want to be a nun!

Once Again, I Can’t Sleep

February 14th, 2006
: : : Currently listening to: Anastacia – I’m Outta Love : : :

I tell you that this shit is getting old.I tried for over an hour to lay in bed and go to sleep, but was unsuccessful. I decided to get back on here and post some more stuff. As you can see, I have been busy posting a lot of shit tonight (this morning). I am trying to make up for lost time! So there are lots of new jokes and lots of new NOTW stories. I hope you enjoy :-) Jason has been doing a good job of keeping jokes posted regularly. I think this was the first time I’ve posted a joke in about a month. I guess I just have not ran across any that were post-worthy.
Not much going on lately. Oh yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day to all you couples out there. Hopefully you’ll be able to spend time with your sweetheart. Unfortunately I can’t do that as I have to work. But I was able to do that over the weekend, so it’s OK.
Well I am going to try my luck at going to sleep as it’s nearly 5AM dammit.

No, I am not Dead

September 15th, 2005
:: Currently listening to: Smile Empty Soul – Nowhere Kids :::

Gee has it really been that long since I wrote something here? Where are all the people who are supposed to encourage me to write daily (or almost daily)? I can’t believe no one has complained that I have not written in so long.
Anyway, not much new in the life of wyldrob. I am still working at the hospital – in computer services. I try to get overtime when it’s available, which for a while now, it hasn’t been too hard to get. I am not complaining about it either! I do like the OT. Of course if they just gave me a raise, I might not have to work all the OT to have some extra money. I am hoping that comes soon, but I am not getting my hopes up about it. Cuz, I think it’s likely to be a while before I see any extra money.
New TV shows are starting this week. I still need to watch House, MD from the other night. I am also still looking for Cold Case, and Medium from Sunday and Monday nights. This is the bad part of working second shift. I am never home to watch prime time TV shows. I need to get TIVO or something. I think in the meantime I’ll have to stick with my ancient VCR to record the shows. They used to get posted on torrent sites, but those are getting harder to find. Anyone know of any good torrent sites?
I want to build a new PC. Does anyone want to contribute to the “Robbie’s Computer” Fund? I figure it will be after the first of the year before I can make it happen. At least my stuff isn’t dead – not yet anyway. So it’s not like I have to have it right now. I just want something a little faster. I am not even sure what sort of system I will build. I know I have a lot of research to do. Things have changed so much since the last time I built a computer – about three years ago. I don’t want to purchase something that is going to be incompatible. I’ll do more searching on that when it comes time to build.
So who has something interesting to share?

Want Some Tiger Meat?

September 13th, 2005

SHANGHAI, China – The Hufulou restaurant in northeastern China said they were selling illegal tiger meat dishes, but they were really cooking up donkey flesh – marinated in tiger urine. The so-called stir-fried tiger meat with chilies was going for $98, and raw meat was priced at $864 a kilogram. Officers who came to shut down the restaurant were told that the meat was actually from donkeys, flavored with tiger urine to give the dish a “special” tang. Authorities confiscated the restaurant’s profits and fined the owner, Ma Shikun, about $300.

This Is Why You Should Never Throw Out Your Lit Cigarettes

February 22nd, 2005

SAN FRANCISCO – A man barely escaped serious injury Thursday after a lit cigarette he tried to toss out the window while driving across the Bay Bridge blew back in and ignited the vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The unidentified man was driving westbound at about 10:40 a.m. when he tossed the cigarette out the window of his Ford Expedition, said CHP Officer Shawn Chase.
Carried by the wind, the cigarette landed in his back seat and almost immediately burst into flames. The man quickly pulled to the side of the road, and leaped from the flame-filled SUV, which continued rolling into a guard rail, Chase said.
“He thought he had thrown it in park, but he didn’t and it just kept going,” the officer said.
“It was in flames by the time he got out. He had some of his hair singed on the back of his head. It burnt down to the frame. There was nothing left.” The incident forced the closure of the Harrison Street off-ramp and one lane of traffic flowing into the city for about an hour.
He said the man will likely face a misdemeanor charge for littering.
“We see people throwing cigarettes out the window all the time but never a situation like this where it comes back in,” Chase said. “This guy was lucky.”

Last Words

January 17th, 2005

OVIEDO, Fla. – Talk about timing. Right after a Presbyterian minister uttered the words “And when I go to heaven…” during his sermon, he collapsed and died at the pulpit. The Rev. Jack Arnold, 69, was at the end of his sermon Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church when he suddenly grabbed onto the podium before falling to the floor. Several parishioners with medical backgrounds tried to revive Arnold and paramedics were called, but he appeared to die instantly. Before Arnold collapsed, he quoted Bible scholar John Wesley who said, “Until my work on this earth is done, I am immortal. But when my work for Christ is done…I go to be with Jesus.”

pics and more pics

September 29th, 2004
::Currently listening to: Skid Row – Here I am::

I’ve helped Regina the last couple of days by making silhouettes of her students. She’s doing some sort of project and needed them. I sat here for about 4 hours last night and another hour tonight messing with them. AT least it gave me something to do to keep from being so bored. I also borrowed her scanner. I have scanned about 40 or 50 pics this evening as well. Most of them are of my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Of course they were taken some time ago, and I forgot I had them until about two weeks ago.
Ricky stopped by this even to waste some time before he had to go pick up Josh. We just sat here and talked mostly. He had to sit while I was scanning pics because I was determined to get them scanned! Chris stopped by too. I was kind of surprised, two visitors in one day. That is unusual for me!
I had what might be my last physical therapy session yesterday. I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow to see what he says. My back isn’t really any better, so we’ll see what he has to say. The therapist says I should be getting better. So she fears something serious could be wrong. I guess I have to wait and see.
Well I don’t have anything else to share this evening. So y’all have fun.

Who knows these songs?

September 27th, 2004
::Currently listening to: Nickelback – Figured You Out::

OK I am posting some lyrics here for you to see. The first one is “Camel Toe” by Bob & Tom. The second is called “Bottle Action” by Miss Beehavin’ (sp?). Let me know what you think and if you can figure out what the hell that line is in “Camel Toe” where I have the question mark. I have listened to that song over and over and can’t figure it out. I might have some of the lyrics messed up in the other song too, but I think they are pretty close. Let me know if there need to be any corrections.

much neglected blog

August 25th, 2004
::Currently listening to: Fleetwood Mac – Gypsy::

Yeah I am going to post in my much neglected blog. It was pointed out to me just yesterday that I have not posted in a while. I just have not been up to it for some unknown reason. I managed to hurt my back the first part of last week, so I have not worked since. The doctor seems to think I might have a pulled muscle, but I am not so sure. Of course me falling at the end of last week wasn’t the most helpful thing for it either. I know I will be out this week – that is if I still have a job. I have not heard from them, and I don’t really know how to get in touch with them. It’s kind of weird that someone hasn’t called me either. I would have thought that they would have. I guess they really don’t care about their employees very much.
I really should find a new job. I have been really looking lately. I am just tired of doing production type work. I really need to get something that is more “me”. I would love to get a job in the computer industry, but that isn’t going very well. I don’t have any sort of schooling in the field, so no one wants to really give me a chance. I think it’s just pitiful. In all tho, I would really just like to start my own business. I have been wanting to do that for a few years now. I think if I would just get off my ass and really promote myself, I could do it. Maybe that is just what I should do. I know there has to be lots of people out there who need some sort of computer work done and are willing to pay.
I managed to get Daddy to go with me to the Verizon store today so I could get a new phone. They have this new every two program where they give you $100 credit toward buying a new phone every two years. It’s not a bad deal. You just have to sign another two year agreement with them. I can’t complain too much. Their service hasn’t been too bad to me. I got an LG VX4500 for those who are interested! I like it OK so far. I spent several hours this evening getting to know the features on it. I can designate a different ringer for each person in my phone book. (No, I don’t have that many people in there, but it does have about 25 different ringers) I need to go around a bit with it and see how the signal goes with it. It will be interesting to see how it acts at Jason’s house. My other phone would barely pick up there. And the new phone is all digital. I hope I didn’t go wrong getting that. But I did look at the map and every place I go seems to have digital coverage. So I will cross my fingers!
Jason got a call from the SCCB guy saying that he would put in a word for a job that Jason applied for. I hope that helps. As he really wants to get a job so he can move out. Everyone needs to go wish him luck! Of course I just keep telling him to find a job so he can support me! I am tired of my job and want to go to work part time so I can go back to school. I really need to go back to school.
