Just Random Ramblings

Yep, yep, I have to work Saturday. From what they posted about the production numbers needed for the month of March, I have a feeling this won't be the only weekend I have to work this month either. Of course you know I'll keep you posted.

As if you have not noticed, I do seem to be posting here more often that usual. I hope to keep posting regularly to let you know how my life transpires! More later, work calls.

Yeah, work goes.. ick.. LOL I did get some good news today! I am finally going to get my level 3!! WOOHOO!! Of course Ross couldnt' tell me what my new rate of pay would be. But I am fairly certain it is at least 50 more cents per hour. IT would really be nice if it was about a dollar per hour. I will find out in a couple of weeks. Now if they would hurry and give my level 4 I would be happy! That would mean lots more pay for me. It would be a few hundred dollars more per month. That means I could start saving for the new car I want! I guess I just have to wait on that. I just hope it doesn't take as long as getting this damn level 3! That will make it like nearly my birthday before that would happen.

They also have a couple of rumors floating around. One being that will work a lot of Saturdays between now and June. I can see that. We are running like shit lately. It seems that everything keeps tearing up. I guess we have to wait and see what happens. The other big rumor is that our channel will go to one shift somewhere around June - we currently have two shifts. This really sucks because it will almost definately mean that I will have to move somewhere else in the plant. They are promising us we will still have a job though. So I am keeping my fingers crossed there. Wish me luck!

Yeah, I worked late last night. I thought we were only going to stay two hours, but we wound up staying three hours. But that was cool. I am sure I will like even more when I get my paycheck next week. I am trying to make all the extra money I can at this time. I really need to save some. I need to get my truck fixed for one. I can't believe I have waited this long before getting it done. But that's what happens since I don't have the money. Now if someone would be so kind to help me out, I'd put it in the shop first thing next week :-)

They are supposed to give us supper tonight. It's a reward for us going two months with no accidents and passing our audit which was performed last week. I am not sure what they are feeding us. But they usually do pretty well with it. One time they gave us hamburgers and hot dogs, once they gave us Papa John's pizza and once they gave us Trenton Barbeque. So it's not too bad. It's good because I don't feel like finding something to take myself!

The fed us subs last night at work. I was worried when I first heard that is what we were getting because I kind of figured they'd already be fully made. And as most of you know, I dispise onions (unless they are cooked in something). But they just had the subs and we put what we wanted on them. That was totally cool.

As far as I know I am off this weekend. That is of course unless they change their minds. With these people one can never tell. There is talk about going to one shift sometime around June. These might just rumors or maybe not. I will have to wait and see. I know it is kind of werid. About three weeks ago or so I submited to have my birthday off - June 30 - but it has not been posted on the caledar yet. And yet just this week I submitted for May 14 and it's already on the calendar. Who understands that one? It just doesn't make sense to me. But it certain seems to make these rumors hold true. It makes me think I won't even be on that line come June. That really sucks because I am used to it. I also pretty much like working on that line. I don't really like the second shift, but I deal with it. It's one of these things I'll have to wait and see what happens.

I need to try and do several things this weekend. One of the biggest is getting the lawnmower going. Yep, it's that time again. I just hate cutting grass! But I'm going to have to start already :-( I also need to make a run up to Daddy's this weekend. I have to plan out my time wisely. I am not sure I'll have time for all of it! But I will try.

I finally was able to file a complaint against an Amazon.com merchant. I had to wait a month to do so. I waited an additional two weeks in hopes that the seller would actually send the CD I ordered. I have had no luck. She claims she sent it. Yeah I admit that perhaps it could have gotten lost in the mail I know that happens. But twice? I think not! So the complaint has been filed! Who knows what will become of it. I bet the seller will contact me again and be pissed that I got Amazon involved. She wouldnt' respond to the first two emails I sent. But once I posted negative feedback about her she didn't hesitate. She contacted me like two hours later! So it will be interesting.

And while I am on my soapbox here, I need to talk about something else. You know about a month ago I was writing about my CD-RW drive not working? Well I found everything on it and found it was still under warranty. So I contacted AccuPC about it. They just said to send in the item and they'd replace it. Well it has been about three weeks and I have not seen a new drive nor have I got an email from them. I wrote them two days ago asking about the status and I am still waiting to hear from them. IF I don't hear from them soon, I will have to change my opinion about dealing with them as well. I am getting fed up with people not holding their end of the bargain!

Yep that's right, I have to work Saturday. Of course they said the same thing last week this time and we didn't work. It's a weird situation up there right now. Tempers are flying everywhere. I don't know where it's all coming from, but some of those fuckers need to chill.

I did see my raise on my check this week. That was surely welcome! I am going to start putting more money in savings. I am still wanting a new car, so by saving I'll be better off when it comes time to buy.

I was told today that the truck line might be going to three shifts. (They currently only work one shift.) I am seriously thinking about trying to get over there. I am not sure if the work is any harder or not. I know the parts are a lot heavier! The parts I run now weigh about 8 or 10 pounds ( I'm guessing). The truck parts weigh in at about 60 pounds fully assembled! But there are lifts and stuff to actually pick up the parts. I am really not sure what will happen yet.

I know if my back would quit hurting I'd be much better off. I don't know what I have done to it. But it has been hurting the last couple of days. I Think I twisted it wrong or something. Grin and bear it - that's what I've been trying to do!

I have to go in a few minutes early tomorrow. I order new glasses last week. I hope they are here tomorrow. The best part is the company paid most of it. I think I owe about $20 for them. The company paid like $120! They came up with the rule that everyone had to have side shields on their glasses, so they paid $120 for us to get new ones. I don't think that's too bad. I know my last employer wouldn't pay shit for prescription glasses. They didn't give a shit if you could see to do your job or not! LOL I hear some of my current coworkers talk about the shit we put up with here, but it still doesn't hold a candle to my last job! I certianly hope it never gets that way either!

I still have not heard from AccuPc concerning my RMA. I wrote to the complaint dept a little while ago. Maybe it will get something done. There is just no sense in me sending three emails and they go unanswered for over a week. So I am hoping to get something done. If I don't hear from them, I'll put it on my list of things to do Friday. I will have a few extra minutes then.

And really me having this weekend shouldn't be a problem. According to what everyone is saying if they day off was approved before 1 May, then we still get the whole weekend. I'll have to see about that. My days were approved like two months ago. I don't really anticipate it being a problem, but then again you never know.

Well, I am off work today and tomorrow. I have to go back Sunday. That will help out my paycheck in two weeks! And I definately can use more pay! But at least I got a little time to rest. Also Jason's graduation is tomorrow, so I didn't want to miss that! We are also having a few friends over to his house tomorrow evening, so that should be fun. And I think these will be my last two days until the end of June. I might just have to take a vacation day sometime in there so I'll have a little time to myself. We'll see!

Wednesday I mentioned about work and not knowing where I would be working come next week. Well they were supposed to tell us as of today. But get this shit, we go into the meeting at 7AM and they tell us that we have to come back at 630AM Tuesday morning. I mean what kind of fucked up shit is this? They have known about this change for months!!! It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. For the life of me, I don't understand it. I think someone needs to learn how to plan this in advance.

On a good note, I am off the entire weekend tho. That hopefully will give me time to catch up on things that have been put aside here around the house. I need to do some major cleaning. I also need to do a little painting. I am going to try and get to that. So wish me luck!

I am in the process of trying out a new rss reader. Do you know what that even is? You see that link that says "syndicate this site"? Well that is my rss feed. It's just a small program that checks feeds for you at certain intervals. I was using FeedReader. I like it alright, but it's gotten where it doesn't update. I have tried everything I think of to fix it, but no avail. I downloaded this program called Awasu last night, but I am not sure if I like it or not. So I am looking for something that I really like. Let me know if you have any ideas.

I want you to get this shit. I just changed shifts this week. I went back to a 12-hour shift with rotating days off. Well they tell us last night when we get to work that we have a meeting this morning at 7AM. Guess what they tell us in the meeting. You got it, our shifts are changing again! Right now the line runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And we have problems keeping up with customer demand. This is their solution: to go back to 8- hour shifts working 6 and 7 days each week. They guarantee we will be off every other Sunday. They are going to add the number of people per shift. But I just don't see that helping a whole lot. Maybe it will, I am not sure. And only time will tell. They claim we'll do better And guess what shift I get to be on - SECOND! I hate that fucking shift. But the good news is that I am scheduled to go work in turning. This will go on for at least a few months. I guess since I am new to this line, I have to find out if this way will actually work. I honestly don't see it happening, but I could be wrong. I certainly have been wrong before.

The good news is that I can pretty much bank on getting a 48-hour paycheck each week! And I might get a little more every now and then. I can definitely use the money. Especially since I have not gotten my fucking raise. I need to give things time to settle and speak with Scot about that. Hopefully I'll get it before too much longer. I deserve my damn raise after all the hard work I did on the other line. But I am not sure that will account for a damn thing now. It's gonna kind of suck though because I am only guaranteed to be off every other Sunday. That doesn't leave me much time to see people and enjoy some time to myself or whatever the case may be at the time! LOL I guess people are just going to have come see me after work if they want to see me! That kind of bothers me too about things I have to do around the house, clean, mow the lawn and stuff. It's going to be difficult working this shift. But I will have to make do the best I can. As aggravating as it is, I guess I should be really thankful that I have a job. But I was really looking forward to being off every other weekend. So this will be my last three day weekend for who knows how long, so I really need to try and make the best of it!

Well work is getting a little better. I can honestly say I am getting used to the move I made a couple of weeks ago. The next few days are going to be rough though because we have to change part types. I have been talking to my supervisor about my raise I should have gotten over a month ago. He said he is trying to check on it. But he has to get someone out from under someone else's desk. Of course I am not saying any names for certain reasons. But I thought that was pretty funny. He also said that the channel manager knows about the situation as well. I am hoping they retro-pay me for the time I should have gotten the raise and have not gotten it. But I have a feeling they won't do that, but I am certainly going to ask about it.

I was going to try and get up in the morning to cut grass, but I can definately scratch that idea as we got some much needed rain. Does anyone know of someone who does lawns at a reasonable rate? I would be willing to pay someone anymore as I really can't find the time to take care of everything. And I know my landlord is probably beside himself about it.

I came home tonight to the lights being on in the kitchen. I was kind of surprised because I know they were off when I left for work today. I figure the power much have blinked or something. I came in here with the computer and find the modem was offline. Sometimes if the lights blink the ones in the kitchen will come on automatically for some reason. It's something to do with the X-10 switches. It's not that big of a deal I guess. Of course it could be a big surprise if I was not expecting it! A couple of weeks ago while I was cooking they would cut off everytime the washing machine changed cycles. It was kind of funny.

Well I need to get off here. I just thought it would be nice to write a little in my much neglected blog. Now I have decide which movie I want to watch tonight! I watched Blue Streak last night. I think I'm gonna go shower and then go find something to watch. It's not like there is anything much better to do right now. I guess if I was a club person, I would head out there. Oh well - the joys of working second shift.
