Holy Shit!

: : : Currently listening to: Eminem - Cleaning Out My Closet : : :

I can't believe it's been nearly two months since I wrote in here. I really need to try to do better. Just so you know, I have not died. I just never think about posting anything in here.

After a year or two of being closed, Walton Way finally re-opened this week. That means I don't have to fight the dumbasses at the four-way stop at 7th St by the Civic Center. They were supposed to be completed in May, but of course fell behind schedule. Of course I am not surprised they fell behind schedule either. Everytime I rode by there, the people were barely working, that is if they could even be spotted. Of course I could say that this was the result of your tax dollars at work, but that would be incorrect. AGL was responsible for the work taking place around 8th and 9th streets.

Well not much going on around here. I am probably going to be moving within the next couple of months, so wish me luck there. I know when I get ready to move my sites will be unavailable for a short time. I might route them to a different server briefly. I don't think I can route everything tho, so pages like this one would be unavailable. I'll post more info when the time comes.

Until then, be good or be good at it!

No Headline

: : : Currently listening to: Tony Toni Tone - If I Had No Loot : : :
Well I couldn't think of a good headline to put here. This is where you can just make up your own! There isn't much new going on in the world of wyldrob. I just thought I would share a few words on here.

I have a day off tomorrow! I have to work all weekend. But that isn't so bad considering that I have been off the last three or four Sundays in a row. This Sunday marks the next to the last race in the NNC. If you don't know what NNC stands for, then go here. I think you will find out what it means.

The big news is happening next weekend tho. Raise your hands of you are going to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire next weekend! < Raises hand! > I am hoping to get to it on opening day, but I might have to wait til Saturday. I have to work on Friday. I know I should have taken off that day, just so I could go. I might go to a Midnight showing on Thursday night if they have one. I guess I need to call the cinema and find out. Well damn, I was going to look at Fandango for tickets and showtimes, but they are down for maitnenace. I know how that goes. My site has been down quite a bit over the last week. (More on that later). Next weekend also ends this years NNC season. I don't mind who wins the cup as long as it's not a Roush driver! I would really like to see Johnson win, but I have a feeling he's going to have to race really hard to get past Stewart. I guess we'll find out next Sunday who is the champion.

My server has been down more this week that I would prefer. I took it down Sunday to install a second hard drive. That proved to be more trouble that what it was worth. After messing around for several hours and switches cases and stuff, I finally rigged up something to hold the drive in the original case. It's not pretty, but at least it works. The sad thing is that after I had the drive installed and got it formatted it failed! I had no idea the damn drive was bad! It tested good when I tested it. Go figure. I am not putting much faith in these hard drive tests anymore. I tested a different drive for a different machine a couple of days later and found that it showed good. Well when I tried to load Windows on it, it froze. I am not 100% certain it is the drive on that one. It might have other hardware issues. I am going to tinker with it over the next few days if I get a chance.

Well that's it for now. Maybe I'll step on my soapbox again shortly. I know you'll love that!

Tickled Pink

: : : Currently listening to: Godsmack - Whatever : : :

Well I got a call earlier today that just made me laugh. It seems that reigning NNC champion Kurt Busch got into some trouble while heading to the track on Friday. He was basically an asshole to the cops. They suspected him being under the influence of alcohol, but couldn't prove it. But he ran a stop sign and was speeding so he got charged with wreckless driving. Read the full story here. Well as if this isn't bad enough, he also got suspended for the last two races. Maybe this will give him a wakeup call. This will probably put him in tenth place for the point standings after next week's race. Anyway, I just got a kick out of it. Regina had to track me down at work to inform me. I just got really tickled by the whole thing.

On another note, nothing really going on right now. I am just sitting here kind of bored. I have a lot of things that I really need to work on, but I have no desire to do them at the moment. Maybe I'll get a kick of energy later. I am not counting on it tho.

Someone come save me from being bored!

Try this!

: : : Currently listening to: Jimmy Buffett - Margaritaville : : :

Ok, you know you love Google. So give this a try. Go to www.google.com. On the search box, type in "failure" without quotes. Now click the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. Is that not a riot? Let me know your thoughts? Anyone know of any other neat tricks with Google?

Richmond County's Finest

: : : Currently listening to: Garbage - Stupid Girl : : :

OK, here's the story. I am on my way over to pick up Jason last night so we can go out to eat. I get stopped at the railroad crossing on Walton Way (at 12th St I believe) because the crossing guard rails were down. Well at this particular intersection it also causes the traffic lights to stay red in all directions. Well the sad part is that we sit here for a few minutes and wait. There is a Richmond County cop in the car next to me. After a few minutes, he drives over the curb and goes and gets out of his car. But does he direct traffic to go thru the crossing? Hell no! This dumb fucker starts walking up the railroad tracks!!! In the meantime traffic on the other side of the road starts coming thru the crossing. Well we have this fucking idiot in our lane who won't budge. The lady in the car in front of me even got out and walked up to that car with no luck. Boy, she was pissed too when she got back to her car. I think she might have been late because she was wearing scrubs and had a UH parking permit on her car (later she turned into the employee parking area as well).

Well here's something else. The people who were coming thru the crossing on the opposite of the road were sitting at the traffic light. I guess they were waiting on it to change. HELLO, it's not going to! Well after sitting there a few minutes (and lots of horn honking) the people finally decide to go thru it. That's when the genius in front of us decides that she can go as well.

So all in all it was a very frustrating few minutes. The guys who work at Johnson Motor Company thought so too. They kept saying how people should just go thru the crossing. I just don't understand why one cop couldn't radio for another to come up and direct traffic. I guess the radios don't work anymore in the Richmond County cars...

OK, I am stepping down now....

Only 1 More Day

: : : Currently listening to: Eminem - Just Lose It : : :

There is only one more day until the opening of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I wanted to see if there was a showing tonight at Midnight. I decided against it, so Millard can go with Jason and I. Instead we are going to the last show they have on Friday night. At least I still get to see it on opening day. I hope it's better than the third movie. I really enjoyed the first and second ones, but the third one left something to be desired in my book. So, I will find out tomorrow. Now raise your hands if you're going to see this movie sometime this weekend.

I am just glad that I looked at my tickets before I the theatre the other night when I got them. I told the guy I wanted three tickets for the HP movie at 1135pm on Friday night. He made a mistake and gave me tickets for Chicken Little on Friday night. But I got them exchanged with no problems. And I triple checked the tickets to make sure they say "Harry Potter" at 11:35! I also wonder how crowded the theatre will be then.

This will also be interesting because the fourth book is my favorite in the series. I am just hoping it lives up to my expectations! I will find out soon enough. Let me hear your thoughts. It's simple, just click the "Post a comment" link!

A Review

: : : Currently listening to: Orgy - Blue Monday : : :

Yes I did go see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Friday night. The movie was much better than the third in my opinion. Millard is the only one that I have talked to so far that disagrees with me. Of course there were some major differences between the book and the movie. Jason points out some of them on his blog. I have a few others to list that I think he missed:

  • In the beginning they show "The Riddle House". Well in the movie that show Barty Crouch, Jr. in the room with Wormtail and Voldemort. This doesn't happen in the book. Only Wormtail and Voldemort are in the house.

  • They fail to explain the death of Barty Crouch, Sr. in the movie. Unless I missed something, this was one of those things you have to try to figure out on your own (or know if you've read the books)

  • Of course they cut out the Dursley's. I would have liked to seen Vernon and Arthur Weasley go at it. I would have also liked to have seen the "Ton Tongue Toffee" that Dudley eats.

  • They fail to explain about the gambling of Fred and George. I think a lot of this is due to the fact that Ludo Bagman is left out of the movie entirely.

  • The Triwizard earnings! I mean come on, how will this be explained in the next movie when Fred and George open their joke shop???!!??

  • The whole Rita Skeeter being an unregistered Animagus!! I thought this was a good point they should have included!

I am sure that I am missing a lot of things. But that's all I can think of right now. Please send me your comments.

And Stewart Wins!

: : : Currently listening to: Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You : : :

Yep, Tony Stewart grabbed the NNC championship this year. Of course I was hoping Johnson would win, but he cut a tire early in the race and hit the wall. At least another Roush driver didn't win this year! All in all, I am happy it was Stewart. I think he's changed a lot this year. He used to be a real big cry baby and a big asshole to boot. He has certainly calmed down. Hopefully he will keep his level head in the years to come.

Congrats Tony!

Happy Turkey Day

: : : Currently listening to: White Town - Your Woman : : :

Just a quick note to say Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone enjoys themselves. And have a piece of turkey for me. I will be working tomorrow. I will get to spend a short time with family before work tho. I can't complain about working either as I will be off on Christmas and New Year's.

I am heading over to Ginny's tomorrow. She called me other night and asked me what I was bringing. I told her I was bringing nothing but myself. She insisted that I bring something. So I agreed to make macaroni and cheese in the Crockpot. That isn't too hard. It just takes a while to cook. But she also mentioned pecan pies. I told her that I wasn't making those. She did make a liar out of me on that one tho. I made those pies this morning. I will take one over there tomorrow. The other is for me and Regina (if there is any left!)

Hopefully it won't be too bad tomorrow. Of course I was begged this morning by a certain someone will remain unnamed to come over tonight after work to set up his network since he got a new machine. I told him I would only do that if he paid me. He declined, so did I! But in the end he figured out how to fix it by himself. I told him that it was amazing what he could do when he put his mind to it! And I know he won't read this, so I can talk dirty about him all I want in here! LOL. But I wouldn't do that, would I?

So Happy Thanksgiving. I am going to be alone this weekend. Jason has gone to his Mom's, so I'm not sure how much I'll actually talk to him. I think Ricky will be around some, but not sure. But I have to work all weekend, so it probably won't be too bad.

Anyway, I got to get. It's time to get ready for work.

Falling Asleep...

: : : Currently listening to: Chevelle - The Clencher : : :

Yeah, falling asleep is what I feel like I could do. I guess I ate too damn much at Ginny's. Going to sleep in not an alternative right now. I am at work! I don't think it would be a good idea for them to catch me sleeping while here. I probably wouldn't have a job anymore!

Well, Thanksgiving dinner was an enjoyable affair. I went over to Ginny's of course. We had all sort of food to eat. I think they going to be having leftovers all weekend. I know that is probably what I'll have. I fixed enough that I can have supper here for the next couple of days. I also brought a couple pieces of pie with me, one peach and one apple.

Ginny was pleasantly surprised when I showed up with the pecan pie this morning. She had no idea that I was going to make it. That is probably because I told her I wasn't going to. But in the end I gave in and fixed it.

And I don't think Dana is going to get any Crock-pot macaroni & cheese unless she goes over to Ginny's to get it. I would have taken her some out if I had cooked it at home. But as it turns out, I started it at home this morning, then grabbed the pot and headed over to Ginny's so I could help her with other stuff.

As you can tell, I am really trying to post more on here. I am not sure how long that is going to last. I hope it last a good while. I would like to be able to post stuff on here each day. That would give my faithful reader (and yes I used singular form here) stuff to read each day! Of course it would be neat for more people to come here. Most hits I get on this page are from lyrics that are posted.

Does anyone care to know what is the most visited page on my website? I doubt you really want to know that shit, but it's always worth a shot. And you can view if you know my url to view the statistics. I know one thing that bugs me a bit when I view stats. When are people going to give up using IE? Can't you see that it is the spawn of Satan? Well perhaps it isn't that bad. I just would like to see more Firefox browsers hitting my page. I think it's a much better browser. I have Firefox installed on all my machines. There is nice little extension for it called "IE View" or something of the like. It adds an option on the right click menu for "View this page in IE". That is really helpful for pages that use Active X and stuff that is only available in IE. Of course a lot of those sites that use that I would like to shoot the web designers. I am sure they have reason for doing things the way they did, but they do need to realize that not everyone out there uses IE. And I also understand there might be no other way to get the information needed without Active X. One site I that comes to mind is Trend's Housecall. I am not sure they could find another way to make that site to scan your machine without Active X. But of course I am no programmer, so I could be wrong.

Whoa, I cannot believe I have put this much bullshit in here right now. I guess I am just trying to get passed the sleepiness caused by that damn turkey - and eating too much of course! So what's eating at you these days? I'd love to hear from you!

Still Having Leftovers?

: : : Currently listening to: Warrant - I Saw Red : : :

Are you still having leftovers from Turkey Day? I am somewhat. I made sure I left Ginny's the other day with enough food that I wouldn't have to worry about supper while at work for the next few days. Of course by tomorrow when it's all gone, I am sure I will be damn tired of ham & turkey!

Not much else has been going on. Work has been extremely boring the last few days. I have not had many people with whom to chat! I have been working on some projects that I need to try and complete.

So the holiday season has officially begun. How many did the morning rush of shopping on Black Friday? I certainly did not. Being that I had to work, it would have made for a terrible day from lack of sleep. So I missed out on all the "great deals", but I'll survive. It's not like I have tons of money to spend on things anyway.

So what are your stories from Turkey Day?

November 28, 2005

Thanks!

: : : Currently listening to: Bryan Adams - Run to you : : :

I just wanted to say thanks to Dana. She pointed out that she got an error 500 the other night when she was trying to post a comment here. I am not sure if that was the reason I had very few comments or not, but rest assured, it's fixed. At least it's fixed for now. The problem was when this was hosted on Jason's server I had a different comment script than Jason. Well when I moved over here, I forgot about that.

When I was posting test comments here the other night, I didn't receive an error, I just had pages that would never finish loading. I was still getting the comments, however. Most of you know, that comments are not immediately posted to here unless you use TypeKey. Feel free to sign up, as it's free. That will also ensure that your comments are posted immediately. Of course if that becomes a problem, I'll have to fix that as well. But most of the time it's not a problem whatsoever. Jason is the only one here that I know who uses TypeKey. So why not sign up? After all it is free! If anyone else has any other problems here, let me know and I'll try to get them fixed ASAP.

More Lyrics, Kind of.. Well you'll see

I've not listened to this song in a long time. But I want to post the lyrics here. Have a look.

Stepping On The Box Again

: : : Currently listening to: Tone Loc - Wild Thing : : :

OK I am going to step up here and say something. If you fail to take a bath, do us a favor and do not get around others. This really irks me. If you have a job, or any sort of contact with others for that matter (even if it's going out in public), you should take the time to wash yourself! There is probably nothing that more disgusting than someone who won't bathe. I know someone is going to give examples here, but trust me, I can do without them.

I won't go into detail about where I ran into this person. I doubt that person would ever read it on here anyway, but still. Just do everyone a favor and bathe. Brushing your teeth is also helpful!

OK, I am done now. You can go back to your daily life!

A Top 10

I ran across this.. thought it was fairly interesting....

From: Bill Eagle http://www.sthelensupdate.com/top10/

The Top 10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong.

Sent to Bill by Lee Coleman

10. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society: we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

9. Children can never succeed without a male and female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

8. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

7. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

6. Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

5. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed. The sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

4. Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all: Women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

3. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

2. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

1. Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
