up and running

::Currently listening to: Hoobastank - The Reason::
Yeah, Jason and I finally got my new router PC up and running yesterday. I am not sure exactly what the problem was. I think it had something to do with a hard drive that was failing. But after a few hours of trying this and that, it started working.

Regina was nice this evening. She cooked some barbecue chicken and invited me to have supper with them. Not too bad, but I had eaten a sausage dog like 30 minutes before she called so I wasn't hungry. But I did bring home some chicken, so I'll have that later.

I have about a week before I go back to work. I am not sure how things will go. I heard there might some some changes in the time we work but I have been unable to confirm anything right now. I will have to find out for sure this week though.

Heavy Accents

::Currently listening to: Bon Jovi - Stick To Your Guns::
Don't you just love it when you call tech support and you get someone with a heavy accent. Well that I can deal with, but what I do have a problem with is someone talking to me like I am a fucking idiot. My DSL went down a little while ago and I had to call BS to get it fixed. Well that isn't too bad either than that means I have to route the modem back to the windows machine so I can access the actual modem - normall I have it connected directly to my Linux router. Anyways, I tell the guy that I am looking at the modem page and what I've done on my end before I ever bothered to call him. He had me do the exactly fucking thing I had just done before he would even try a line test or whatever it was to correct the problem. I mean how many times should have to reset the damn modem in order for it to work. This is not the really bad thing. The really bad thing is that he is telling me to update my firmware to a newer version - a version for the 2200 model modem and I have a 2100. I asked him about it and he's like it's ok. So I am about to click the download button to update it and he tells me no don't update it. I didn't think I should anyway. Most everyone knows when you start messing with firmware upgrades if you don't have the right one and get it to actually install it can render the device unusable. I am thinking that perhaps they need to teach their techs better before they jump the gun. He did say that there should be a firmware for my modem in the next few days. We'll see! I am not holding my breath yet. I mean hell they are also supposed to have a higher speed DSL available to me pretty soon. But I am not holding my breath on it either.

OK, I am getting off my soapbox now! On a better note, Jason and I spent most of the weekend together so that was good. We have to find a way to get my router PC to actually access the actual modem web page. I will need it again in a few days (if that firmware upgrade gets released). It's no fun having to unplug the modem from this machine and replug into the Windows machine. So hopefully we'll get that fixed.

I've got one more week before I go back to work. SO I have to enjoy it as much as possible! I have some things I want to do around the house. Who wants to help me come paint? I didn't think I'd have any volunteers! Well, I need to get my ass off here and go to bed.

Wiping the computer

::Currently listening to: Michael Jackson - Thriller::

Yep, I decided to wipe the desktop after I was having several problems here and there. My DeadAim wasn't logging like it was supposed to do, my sound card was having problems, and there were a few other things here and there. I can't complain though, this was the first time the machine has been wiped since I built it over a year ago. There is no telling what I did to make it have those problems. But it's all fixed now - at least for now. I hope it stays that way. I have most of my programs reinstalled now. I still have to tweak some of my settings and stuff, but I'll do that later. I am getting ready to hit the hay. I've been messing with this for over three hours!

my band

::Currently listening to: D12 - My Band::

I just heard this song for the first time today. That's is kind of weird in a way. I guess it's because I rarely listen to Y-105. I don't have cable either, so no MTV nor VH1. I was in Augusta this morning and was listening to Rick Dee's and they played this song.

Well I get to go back to work after six weeks of being out because of my knee. This should be interested. I did hear that Ozena no longer floats - they take turns each week. So that should be interesting. I think it will be fun actually. Maybe some of these other people will get the feel for doing stuff they don't know how to do. I'll be sure to write on Monday and let you know how things are. There is no telling how good or bad they will be. IT will be interesting to say the least!

back to work

::Currently listening to: Audioslave - What You Are::
I got the joy of going back to work yesterday. It wasn't too bad. In a way I am glad to be back. But you know I was enjoying my time off! I just got to get them to give me an answer about this weekened. I have had plans for like two months now and requested this weekend off. I need to make sure it isn't a problem. If it is, I might just have to lose my job as I am taking this weekend off! LOL I hope it doesn't come to that though, as I need my job. I think most everyone is glad to see me come back. Although several of them said I put on a few pounds. Well I guess I did when the doctor is telling me to take it easy.. But oh well.. I'll work it back off. AT least I hope I do!

And really me having this weekend shouldn't be a problem. According to what everyone is saying if they day off was approved before 1 May, then we still get the whole weekend. I'll have to see about that. My days were approved like two months ago. I don't really anticipate it being a problem, but then again you never know.

it was bound to happen

::Currently listening to: Bulletboys - F#9 ::
Yeah I knew that one day it was bound to happen - I'd forget my badge for work. Well it wouldn't be such a big deal, but they make a big deal out of it when you miss a punch on the time clock. They give you half of an occurance for each time you miss a punch or punch-in late. That means I would have missed four punches total yesterday ( we have to clock in and out for lunch). I would have goten wrote up for sure! So I went to Butch - he issues new badges - and told him I lost mine. Yeah I lost it, right on my desk where I left it :-) Anyway, he got me a new badge at a $5 cost to me. Well, I'd rather spend that money then to get wrote up! Now I have two badges, but only one will get me in the building. I'll keep the other one in my wallet in case that ever happens again. I can always get someone to let me in the building.

Well, I am off work today and tomorrow. I have to go back Sunday. That will help out my paycheck in two weeks! And I definately can use more pay! But at least I got a little time to rest. Also Jason's graduation is tomorrow, so I didn't want to miss that! We are also having a few friends over to his house tomorrow evening, so that should be fun. And I think these will be my last two days until the end of June. I might just have to take a vacation day sometime in there so I'll have a little time to myself. We'll see!

Graduation and scratches

::Currently listening to: Three Days Grace - I Hate Everything About You::
Yep, the graduation is finally over - Jason's graduation that is. I don't know if I would ever go to college and be able to finish. I would probably bitch-slap a teacher or two if I had to put up with some of that shit! Seeing him complete that journey does kind of make me wish I would go back, but I am not at a point where I can do that just yet. Now if I had someone to help support me while I went I think I might could do it. I just don't think working full time and going to school part time would work too well for me. I think I would rather go full time and get it the hell over with! We'll have to wait and see where the road takes us

It was definately weird going to work on a Sunday. I have not had to do that since last year! I am not too fond of working all these seven-day weeks either. But at least it will give me some extra money. And I need all the extra money I can get. Hell, I have to buy a few things, like new lenses for my glasses! Yeah, somewhere between Jason's house and getting in the car I managed to put a big damn scratch on my glasses. Now it's driving me crazy. I should have them fixed by Wednesday or Thursday though. They say they'll be in Wednesday but I have my doubts that I actually get them back that day!

History lesson

Here is a history lesson on the word "fuck" This was originally written by Monty Python (not by George Carlin as some have said!)

Perhaps one of the most interesting words in the English language today, is the word fuck. Of all the English words beginning with f, fuck is the single one referred to as the "f-word". It's the one magical word. Just by it's sound it can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love. Fuck, as most of the other words in English, has arrived from Germany. Fuck from German's "fliechen" which mean to strike. In English, fuck folds into many grammatical categories. As a transitive verb for instance, "John fucked Shirley". As an intransitive verb; "Shirley fucks". It's meaning is not always sexual, it can be used as an adjective such as: "John's doing all the fucking work." As part of an adverb; "Shirley talks too fucking much", as an adverb enhancing an adjective; Shirley is fucking beautiful. As a noun; "I don't give a fuck". As part of a word: "abso-fucking-lutely" or "in-fucking-credible". Or as almost every word in a sentence: "fuck the fucking fuckers!". As you must realize, there aren't many words with the versitility such as the word fuck,as in these examples used as the following words;
- fraud: "I got fucked at the used car lot"
- trouble: "I guess I'm really fucked now"
- dismay: "Oh, fuck it!"
- aggresion: "don't fuck with me, buddy!"
- difficulty: "I don't understand this fucking question"
- inquery: "who the fuck was that?"
- dissatisfaction: "I don't like what the fuck is going on here"
- incompetence: "he's a fuck-off!"
- dismissal: "why don't you go outside and play hide-and-go fuck yourself?"

I'm sure you can think of many more examples.
With all these multipurpoused applications, how can anyone be offended when you use the word?
Use this unique, flexibel word more often in your daily speech. It will identify the quality of your character immediately. Say it loudly and proudly:
FUCK YOU!

no days off

::Currently listening to: The Darkness - I Believe in a Thing Called Love::
Yeah I am going to start my seventh consecutive day working today. This should be fun as I'm already tired. Most everyone else is starting their 13th day, but I had last weekend off to attend Jason's graduation :-) I did receive some good news about work Friday though. I was told that I qualify on level 6 because of my test scores. We had to take a test earlier this year. So in about another month I have to go through this review and they'll let me know what will happen. If I get moved to level 6, then I'll be making about $4 more per hour! Whoa, that shit will be nice. I can save and buy that new car I want much faster! I can also visit the Outback more often! I know someone will be happy for that! And no, I am not lending (or giving) you any money if I get this raise! I wish I was getting that pay right now. It would be nice with all the overtime I'm getting!

much deserved weekend

::Currently listening to: Eagles - I Can't Tell You Why::
Well I am sitting here at my mothers's house playing on here computers. She was saying that she was having various problems with them. So I am here to fix them. At least I hope that is!

SKF was nice to use this weekend. They gave us the entire weekend off. We even have Memorial Day as well. So I came here the first day. I probably would not have came if Regina was not coming as well. They are outside cleaning out the hole that used to be the pool. Mama is going to have it repaired and open it once again for relaxation. I told them that I had work to do in here. I don't think they are too happy, but honestly I didn't dress to do all that. And if they hold it against me, so be it. It wouldn't be the first time. But honestly after working so many days with no day off I need a break! And I'm sorry if that seems too selfish, but dammit this will be the only time I have off until the end of June more than likely. So everyone better be ready to celebrate my birthday. If you don't know when it is, ask Jason! I certainly don't think he would forget when it is. He certainly better not forget!

I am not sure exactly what I'll do Sunday and Monday. I know I need to clean up the house, so I am thinking I'l spend some time tomorrow doing that. Monday I would like to grill out, but I am not sure if it'll happen or not. Only time will tell. Well I guess I better go find something constructive to do. I need to go find something to eat as, I have not eaten since I got that biscuit at Popeye's this morning. Wish me a safe trip back home!
